Rewrites and the Red Pen

I finished with the major revisions and re-writes for The Five Angels. I had already entered some into the computer so I could continue to send out queries to Agents, and I have to admit, I’m very pleased with the results so far.

TFA LetteringYIPPY!!!!

I still have a lot of re-writes to enter into the computer, but the manuscript is … well amazing, if I don’t say so myself. No matter how many times I read it, I just love the story.

With the changes being made my word count is going through the roof. The initial rough draft sat at about 76,000 words and I’m only on chapter 12 and it is already over 81,000 words.

I did have one little hiccup.

My red pen died. I know… How am I supposed to do edits without my red pen?

After searching high and low around the house, I wasn’t able to find another one that didn’t leak through the page. So I went to my trusty purple pen.

It was weird at first, but I grew to like it. The only down side is that it doesn’t stand out as much as the red does on the pages.

What do you use when you edit? or do you do all of your editing on screen?
