So Mom and Dad say …. TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!
Well, at least it is my assigned birthday. See I was adopted by my family when I was 10 weeks old from DPS Rescue. So they counted back 10 weeks and assigned December 18th as my birthday. I don’t remember what the date was when I was born. I was a newborn. I couldn’t even open my eyes. Who remembers the day they were born? I don’t recken any creature, human or otherwise really remembers the day of their actual birth. Maybe Lester the Beaver could let me know if Beavers do. OHHHH! Wonder if Bongo remembers his day of birth? I’ve talked to a few cats, and they don’t remember theirs.
Anyways, TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY AND I’M 2 YEARS OLD! Mommy says that means I’m like 14 in Doggie years, and she doesn’t know if it’s better to say I’m 2, which brings the thought of “Terrible Twos” or to say I’m 14, and think I’m a teenager. They woke me up singing Happy Birthday to me and gave me my favorite kind of breakfast. I’ve gotten TONS of extra lovies today, and I even got to go to work with Mommy today. Daddy said I shouldn’t have to spend my birthday home alone.
So what have I done with my life? Well I think I sort of hit the jackpot with this family. I have a wonderful “neighbor lady friend” (we aren’t neighbor’s physically anymore, but she will always be the neighbor lady ) who is the Mommy to my Girlfriend, Bella and to my buddy Charlie. Then there are my cousins, Huckleberry and Penelope, who I get to go and play with at Grandma’s house.
Here are a few pictures of things I’ve done over the last couple years.
It’s been a really fun couple of years!
I have learned to be obedient ( classes 1, 2 & 3 ), gotten my Therapy Dog Certificate, and learned lots of new tricks. Mom is still working on things like reading, ringing the bell (other than the one that hangs on the door for me to ask to go outside to go potty. I ring that one all the time, even if I just want to bark at people outside ), and opening and closing doors. Those things still scare me a little bit. If you have been reading Mommy’s Tails about me, then you know I can be a bit… ascared of things, but like I said. I’m getting braver. I mean, I am only 2!
OH and Mom says I get to see Mandy tomorrow! She’s my trainer at Zoom Room Monterey, and I have missed her so much since we moved. I’m very excited.
I love my spoiled life. Since Daddy works at a pet food store, he brings home all kinds of neat things for me to try. If you want to get your Doggie something neat for Christmas, I suggest Bully Sticks. They are much safer than rawhide (rawhide can choke doggies). They are supper yummy, natural, and they help keep my teeth clean. Mommy says they stink a little bit, so she doesn’t let me chew it on the bed. They come in long sticks that you can cut up smaller, and sometimes they come in circles, spirals, and all kinds of other shapes. I love them. Wonder if Santa will bring me some for Christmas? Is it too late to send a letter to him asking for some?
Oh! Maybe, I can look cute long enough for Mommy to take me to the store and get a new one. I finished mine last night. /sad doggie
I’m sure that will work.
See Mommy? I’m so sad. I have no bully stick on my birthday. You get me a new one? Please?
