What? It’s Sunday, you promised a Saturday post! Yes I know I did. I forgot to weigh ( again ) yesterday morning and when I got home from the 5K, I was tired and hungry. So I ate lunch with friends, then napped, and then we went to the in-law units for pumpkin carving and Skirt Steak ( YUMMMMMY! ) Trust me, that skirt steak is to DIE for! It’s from a local company that marinates it for like 100 years with some magical potion that only the GODS have access too. OHHH it is just melt in your mouth yummies!
Anyways, I finally remembered to weigh in this morning and I had the pleasure of seeing a loss of over 3 pounds in the last week! I so couldn’t be happier with that! I’m not sure if it is because I weighed 2 days later, because of the 5K I did yesterday, or if its because of all the things I did different this week. Whatever the reason, I WILL TAKE IT AND RUN WITH IT! So happy with that.
I’m not betting on the 5K being the reason for the good loss this week. I’m usually really dehydrated and retain a lot of water ( I know that sounds oxymoranish, but I feel dehydrated and I swell up like a balloon ) after a hard walk like that, and I see it on the scale.
Well as mentioned, we did the Run or Dye: Santa Cruz yesterday at the Santa Cruz Fairgrounds in Watsonville. We had such a blast!!! I ran some of it, which I think aggrivated my ankle, because its hurting a bit today. I really should know better, I think I need to get another 20 or 30 pounds off before I can really start running with the way my knees are. (I have had bad knees since I was a kid and skating on them through middle school and high school really didn’t help matters any, though I wouldn’t give it up for anything. )
Here are some pictures from the event. If you have a bunch of friends who just want to go out and walk or run a REALLY fun 5K, I totally recommend one of these. There is another company(ies), Color Run or Color Vibe or something like that does does one similar, so I suppose it would be just as fun.
So like I said… it was LOADS of fun and I highly recommend doing this if you want to do a 5K that is super relaxed and not so “marathony”! And yes, we are sill picking color from our eyes, ears, hair, and nose, but it was totally worth it!
